Sweet July Picnic

May 31st 2007 03:35
Fags and Bitches
Sluts and Hos
Wander down
Where no one knows

Where no one knows
No one goes
But for Bitches
Fags and Hoes

Hear the wine
the laugher fine
the cries of 'oh
isn't this divine?'

Then still happy
Sipping tea
Fags hoes bitches
and sluts agree

It's time to go
back, to flow
in societies river
As they did long ago

The Queens and Kings
Are peasants again
From beautiful things
Return unto pain.

Limerick

May 26th 2007 10:26
A man named Bruce Von Dick
Tried writing a long Limerick
The start and the middle
Were fit as a fiddle
But he just couldn't make the last one rhyme.

There once were two twins, abandoned by their parents to die in the bush. Luckily for them a large echidna came by and allowed them to suckle, protecting them, until they were well and healthy. When they grew up they named themselves Remulus and Romis.

They eventually returned to the land of their father, Bookie.

This is what you need to know about the inhabitants of Bookie. They hate being beaten with sticks and they love eating carrots.

Because they were so well articulated (having been raised by an incredibly articulate echidna), Remulus and Romis began to control the political nature of the land. people bagan to follow them.

However, it was seen that the two had disagreement in their heart. Remulus would control his people by beating the bad elements with sticks. Romus would control his people by offering the bad element carrots.

Each was stubborn.

Remulus said "The fact that my land flourishes, and evil men are too scared to commit evil deeds, proves my method is the only correct one."

Romis said "The fact that my land flourishes, and evil men are coaxed easily into goodness, proves my method is the only correct one."

Eventually Bookie was cut into two lands - Sticky, and Carroty.

However, soon problems formed.

Remulus' men would grow weary of his fury, and soon the beating did not control them, but inflamed their rage against the Crown. Dissent formed, and in the battle to quell it, Remulus became a tyrant unto his people.

Romis' men became arrogant, and would disregard his gifts for what they found more rewarding - drugs, woment and violence. They showed no fear, no respect, and needed heed no fear of retribution.

Would the brothers admit their mistakes? NO! Instead they used each other's mistakes as examples of their own superiority. They also tried to blame each other for some of their own problems.

"Your excess of Carrot giving has made your men indulge in excess such as drugs and violence - the influence of which is destroying Sticky!" yelled Remulus.

"Your regular beatings have created an environment of fear, which has sparked panic and chaos in Carroty!" yelled Romis.

Finally the two leaders tried to meet to discuss their towns. However things became inflamed and they began to quarrel. Remulus began to beat Romis, and Romis, in return tried to coax Remulus off him with a juicy carrot.

Years passed.

Today, if you go to visit, you will see on one side of the town ruled over by a corrupt govenment that controls what their people see, think and do.

On the other side, crime lords laugh, while the Government tries to encourage peace through hopeless inoffensive gestures.

And in between, one feeble old man prods another with a rotting stick, while the other coaxes him off with a mouldy old carrot.

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

May 22nd 2007 07:30
Trent was working really hard on his assignment, he decided despite all the bad grades he had received throughout the year he was going to prove to himself and everyone around him that he could do a good job if he focused on it.

It wasn't that he didn't like the course he had taken at university, he just didn't understand what this had to do with his passion, why he had taken the course to begin with. He knew well enough that he was doing a lot of unnecessary work, if for anything to have a beefed up resume when he's ready to take on the world

For me I'd have to say a Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, because of it's INCREDIBLE mastery of the English language, along with a very explicit message, all wrapped up in a well told story.

Close second would be Marabou Stork Nightmare by Irvine Welsh, because of the sheer brutality of the novel, mixed with the creativity of the world created within, and the best illustrated moral I've ever experienced

Inspired Writings

May 17th 2007 14:06
I have a strict no-no policy when it comes to listening to music, I dislike it for a variety of reasons (which I won't get into right now). However I did listen to a particular song by an Australian band (Redgum), the song was called "I was only 19". I listened to it fifty times over as I was writing a particularly long short story about the Vietnam war.

The story turned out great, at least in the opinion of everyone who read it. I'm sure to this day the song played a great part in the way I wrote everything out. It was looping in my head as I wrote everything out as such the emotions of the song ended up in my writing which was great

Addicted to Loving

May 10th 2007 16:30
Most commonly the rule is that you’ll be head over heels for one girl one day, the next day it will be someone else, so on and so forth, hence the driving force for the saying ‘better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all’.

Of course this falls flat on its face when a person is either addicted to loving, from one person to another, or the opposite, when the affection is stuck on one person like shit to a blanket
