I ate a book
June 1st 2007 11:37
I ate a book
To get me smart
But the words fell out
And wrapped round my heart
I began to question
Think and ponder
Challenge assumptions
Meditate and Wonder
It was too much
I did not fit
Folk liked me better
As a nit wit
So over the sink
I would stoop
As a literary bulimic
Spewing Alphabet soup
So I say Global Warming
Is all a big con
I blame the teachers
for the failings of my son
Watch 60 minutes
And believe the whole lot
I blame rock music
For every kid shot
And I've set up a trap
Full of wires and hooks
To send away running
All people with books
To get me smart
But the words fell out
And wrapped round my heart
I began to question
Think and ponder
Challenge assumptions
Meditate and Wonder
It was too much
I did not fit
Folk liked me better
As a nit wit
So over the sink
I would stoop
As a literary bulimic
Spewing Alphabet soup
So I say Global Warming
Is all a big con
I blame the teachers
for the failings of my son
Watch 60 minutes
And believe the whole lot
I blame rock music
For every kid shot
And I've set up a trap
Full of wires and hooks
To send away running
All people with books
