Swimming in a Glass-Filled Creek - Poem
July 18th 2009 21:18
In a clouded stare,
I looked up at the sky
disillusioned
and in contempt.
Because the stars
were no longer there.
They are unreliable,
they are rare.
Because the revolutions
were already found.
They are conceited,
they've been rewound.
In unnerving whispers,
I shouted to myself
unaware
and invisible.
Because I saw a
speck of dirt.
and I was jealous,
I was hurt.
Because I am nothing
where everything means hope.
and I was base,
I was soap.
In the decided truth,
I touched a light bulb
unafraid
and in refrain.
Because the mold
was never broken.
I am shaped,
I'm unspoken.
Because this won't mean
a thing to you.
I am a flickering light,
I am see-through.
