The Day the Stars Met Their Shadow

July 14th 2009 23:02
Stars

I'm sleeping in a field,
of daisies, dandelions, and mud.
Drops of polluted rain litter the sky
they aren't smiling,
although the stars think they should.
The grass is no testament,
to the dreams that pass through it.
but the footsteps tell a story,
that the world is only temporary,
but not all pieces of the puzzle fit.
The swaying trees can not forget,
the day that no one seemed to care
About the moon, the sun, or the changing seasons,
the day that the shadow understood,
that nothing in life is fair.
